Supplier Quality Statement

1.       BACKGROUND 

ECR Professional Limited provides technical, ethical and regulatory consultancy, including audit file reviews and whole firm audit compliance reviews, to independent accountancy firms. 

Our business is founded on integrity, trust and experience.  We work with our clients to identify their requirements and devise appropriate solutions. 

If you are an existing client of ECR Professional Limited, please download a copy of this statement here and retain it as part of the documentation of your System of Quality Management.

2.       OUR WORK - CONSULTANCY AND REVIEWS

The scope of technical consultancy, audit file reviews, practice assurance reviews or financial statement reviews is agreed in advance with the appropriate contact at our client.  The reports which we produce clearly detail any areas which they do not cover. 

Our reviewers use the most recent ICAEW checklists as a basis for our reviews, suitably tailored for each client assignment wherever necessary. 

File review reports are produced for all engagements.  We aim to provide a draft report within five working days of the review.  Reports are proof-read for accuracy and moderated for consistency of grading.  Any contentious issues are subject to further discussion with the client and amongst our team.

3.       COMPETENCE AND CAPABILITY

We have comprehensive knowledge and experience of the areas we deal with, having worked at senior levels in the audit and accountancy profession for many years.  Our objective is to make the services we provide practical, pragmatic and useful to each firm, whilst always ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations. 

We monitor technical developments via news alert subscriptions, regular reviews of regulator websites and technical releases from professional bodies. 

As well as following a programme of Continuing Professional Development in line with the requirements of the ICAEW, we meet regularly with associates in our field of work to discuss current technical issues and developments, which ensures that we are always up to date.

4.       COMPLIANCE WITH LAWS AND REGULATIONS

Ethical issues

We comply with the requirements of the ICAEW Code of Ethics and, where appropriate, the Financial Reporting Council’s Ethical Standard for Auditors.  Before working with our clients, we consider whether any threats to compliance with these requirements might arise and, if so, whether adequate safeguards can be applied.  If this is not possible then we will not undertake the work.

We are committed to compliance with all relevant laws and regulations, including data protection and cyber security and ensuring that client privacy is protected. 

We hold limited personal data (name and contact details) about our clients, for the purpose of enabling us to provide you with our services.

5.       FEEDBACK, MONITORING AND COMPLAINTS

We welcome feedback from our clients.  We are always keen to improve our services to ensure that they are entirely appropriate to our clients’ needs.  We can provide references on request.
